The role

We are excited to recruit a skilled senior technician to support our dedicated 200-student capacity undergraduate teaching laboratory in the school of Biosciences. As the senior technician in charge of planning, organising, and delivering our many biochemistry and food science practical classes, you will be vital to ensuring our students receive the best possible experience during their time in our laboratory. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a background in biochemistry and a broad range of technical skills and experience supervising and working as part of a large team. The ideal candidate will have solid experience working within a biosciences laboratory, have good communication skills, a strong understanding of laboratory Health and Safety and a willingness to learn and develop themselves, as well as teach others.

You will be overseeing a small team of technicians and will be interacting with students, academic staff and other members of the technical team on a daily basis. The successful candidate will have a strong focus on customer service, ensuring everything is provided to the highest possible standard.
